Introduction
Thank you for your interest in our Home Reading Program.
Reading Grids are fundamental to this program. Note the Level for each kit, record the date, title of the book and comments. The comments should include trouble words. This gives me direction in supporting your child's learning at school.
DATE (your child read the book) TITLE (of the book) COMMENTS (For example, list trouble words or how easy or difficult the book was for your child.)
You have options;
1st - you may continue to request the hard copies from me. I will return new kits A.S.A.P. or
2nd - you may access the book program on this site and tailor your kits to meet the needs of your child and at your child's pace. For example, see the options for book format below.
3rd - If price is not an issue, you should check out the Reading A-Z website. There is a wealth of additional resources. There are many more books offered for each collection at each level. I have only included black-line book, also known as read and colour books. On this site, your child may read the interactive book followed by a question and answer activity - to check your child's reading comprehension skills.
Before you begin, check out the Book Assembly Instructions, with 3 options; paperback (pbk), one sided, or doubled sided (ds).
* The paperback may be the most desirable, 4 pages per sheet of paper, Er go, it is the most cost effective format.
* One-sided books have two pages per sheet.
* Double-sided books are that which I send home as hard copies. If your printer is capable of printing on both sides, this would be the format for you.
Worksheets
I have included several worksheet (wkst) options for each book. Choose at least one worksheet per book for your child to complete.
If you have any questions or comments please forward them to me via e.mail [email protected]
